Review of let the game begin – by Sandeep Sharma
Let the Game Begin, a thriller penned by Sandeep Sharma is a historical thriller. Thriller as a genre often comprises the elements of suspense, mystery, uncertainty, to keep the reader hooked till the very last page and the author has maintained such suspense till the end.
“Chess was never just a game”
The tagline of the book And also my favorite line. The plot revolves around the rivalry of two nations Chaturanga and Sarprakt and after the killing of the only heir of Chaturanga, Devrat the king Viratha went mad and ask Vyapi to make a dangerous weapon so that he could re – live that battle in which his son was killed. After 4000 years history repeats itself and serial killing and murders occur. This left everyone with a question that – Can history repeats itself or it was just a coincidence. Was vpyapi behind all the murders or he was really the man who knows everything?
Author has successfully created a world of imagination in which these two kingdoms exist and the reader keeps wandering in them and can feel the rising goose bumps on the skin after the revelation of some hidden secrets. ‘Let the game begin’ is more than just a book it’s like a movie where you can actually see the scenes described in pages.
• The title, eye-catching enough to attract mystery lovers.
• For the cover, I’ll give 5 on 5 as it is really beautiful and impressive.
• Narration, language and editing- simple yet effective. This is the first book I have read of this genre and I’m totally in love with it.
But I have to wait for a sequel. That’s the only thing I hate about the book but I’ll wait for it. It is totally worthed.
